Program Format
and Membership Requirements
The Ambassador
Club is a group of active Chamber members who are experts in the
benefits of Chamber membership and enjoy sharing this information
with others one-on-one. Ambassadors fulfill a prestigious and
important role with the Chamber and their volunteer efforts usually
guarantee new member satisfaction and renewals.
Members
interested in serving as an Ambassador in 2005 must:

Be a member in good standing –
dues must remain current.
·
Attend monthly Ambassador Club
meetings - meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month.
·
Commit to serve on a
subcommittee of your choice which will consist of:

Retention / Recruitment (R&R Team) Chairman – Karin Myers,

will be:

Responsibilities of this subcommittee
will be:

Assign greeters and arrange volunteer shifts for all Chamber
events.

Deliver membership plaques to all new members.
c.
Mail out new member welcome letters.
d.
Attend Ribbon Cuttings, Ground Breakings, and Grand
Openings.

Business and
Economic Development -
Vice Chair: Harry Smith, Schilling Enterprises
Existing Business & Industry
Chair: Brian Trulove, Clevite
Engine Parts
Goal: Maintain and
build Collierville’s high quality of life by supporting the
retention and expansion of existing businesses, as well as by
assisting in attracting new business investments.

Maintain open lines of communication with local governmental
officials.

Educate the community about the importance of benefits of
business development.

Work and coordinate efforts with planning and government
agencies (local, regional and state).

Assists local business and business development prospects with
vital data and demographics, maintains the Chamber’s website,
www.colliervillechamber.com, and coordinates the marketing
of Collierville as a location for business.

Continue lines of communication with local, state and regional
Economic Development allies whose marketing responsibilities
include the surrounding Collierville area.

Sponsorship of annual industry appreciation luncheon.
Business, Home & Garden Expo -
Chair:
Michael Green, John Green & Co Realtors
Coordinates the
planning and implementation of the annual business-to-business trade
show and expanded family festival held at the Cox Community Center.
This trade show provides businesses the opportunity to show and sell
to the public.
Chamber
BellSouth/FedEx Classic - Chair:
Allen Green, John Green & Co Realtors
The hottest golf
outing around is held annually on the third Monday of May. Members
and their guests enjoy a day of fun and camaraderie at Ridgeway
Country Club.
Community Development -
Ty Stamps, BancorpSouth
Goal: Position
Chamber as a pro-active and credible community leader through the
work and coordination of community groups and civic organizations in
improving the quality of life in Collierville.

Continue to promote and support Chamber
umbrella organizations—Collierville Education Foundation and
Leadership Collierville.

Co-sponsor the annual teacher appreciation
luncheon.

Continue to encourage and support higher
education through the University of Memphis-Carrier Center.

Continue to work with the town to recruit
family-oriented businesses and recreational facilities.
Finance - Vice Chair: Dean Wingo, City
Center Shopping Plaza
Goal: Assures the
Chamber operates effectively on a financially sound basis.
Government
Relations - Vice Chair:
Linda Dick, Coldwell Banker Jennae
Goal: Develops the
Chamber’s legislative positions on business-related issues and
maintains working relationships with government officials at the
local, state and federal levels.

Attend town board meetings to keep Chamber Board of Directors
current on important government issues and projects.

Identify issues of concern and recommend positions on the issues
to the Chamber Executive Committee; keep the membership updated.

Host legislative forum for local citizens to meet, question and
express concerns to state legislators.

Sponsor political forums for local candidates seeking Board of
Mayor and Aldermen positions.

Conduct orientation reception for newly elected officials.
Home Based Business Professionals (HBBP)
- Chair: Terry Dean, Longaberger Baskets
A professional
development special interest group for those who own a home-based
business, serves as a source of information offering speakers to
address the group regarding aspects of the home-based business.

Goal: Provides communication, marketing, networking and educational
opportunities for members.

Create greater awareness of products and
services offered by members through on-going relationships with
area media.

Implement a public relations/marketing
program for the chamber in order to raise awareness of
membership benefits and programs.

Provide opportunities for members to
develop skills and business acumen by sponsoring training
workshops and seminars.

New Chamber Facility
- Chair: E. Dale Jamieson, Attorney
Charged with the
planning and construction of a new facility for the Chamber of
Commerce that will include a boardroom available to the community
for business meetings, seminars, small business development
programs, etc… The design of office space will be finalized with the
overall goal to insure efficiency and usefulness.
Culture,
Recreation & Tourism Development - Chair: Watty Brooks,
The Brooks Collection
Goal: Establishes an
awareness of Collierville’s culture, recreation & tourism amenities
on a local, state and regional level.

Launching an aggressive marketing program
designed to broaden the appeal of Collierville to visitors.

Developing collateral materials to respond
to tourism inquiries.

Addressing the growth of Collierville’s
recreation, retail and hospitality amenities that will enhance
the visitor experience.

Promoting the Collierville Chamber of
Commerce’s Culture, Recreation & Tourism Commission as a source
of information for travel in the Collierville area.
Collierville Tomorrow Advisory Board
– Vice Chair: Julie Yancey, Butler Snow Law Firm
Goal: Oversight responsibility of the
successful and timely implementation of the Collierville Tomorrow
Initiative in three primary areas (Investor Relations, Fiscal
Responsibility, Program Implementation).
Investor Relations
-
Insure that correspondence with
investors is on a regular basis through a monthly and quarterly
newsletter.

Produce and distribute of media
releases for all “newsworthy” occurrences from Collierville
Tomorrow
-
Insure that the Collierville
Tomorrow Leadership Task Force members convene on at least a
quarterly basis

Insure that all Collierville
Tomorrow investors are visited on at least a semi-annual
basis
Fiscal Responsibility
-
Review expenditures to make
certain that they meet the objectives of the Collierville
Tomorrow program

Work closely with the
Collierville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors on the
implementation of the Collierville Tomorrow program

Evaluate collections and assist
in the continuation of company investments

Assist in the prospecting and
soliciting of additional Collierville Tomorrow
contributions

Have a knowledge of all
Collierville Tomorrow program areas and make certain that
objectives are being met

Assist in engaging current
Chamber membership in the Collierville Tomorrow program’s
