Membership Involvement/Volunteer Opportunities
Get Involved: It’s the way to make your Chamber membership have
value!
One of the benefits of your Chamber membership is a variety of
opportunities that connect your company to other Chamber
members. This can be done through programs, volunteering, or
marketing. Becoming active in one of the many Chamber committees
is a great way to maximize your investment. This is where the
action is and it is where you can have the greatest impact on
helping your community become a better place in which to conduct
business and in which to live.
Ambassadors
Ambassadors are the official representatives of the Chamber.
They attend Ribbon Cuttings, Ground Breakings, Open Houses, and
Grand Openings held by Chamber members. Ambassadors have the
distinguished task of developing new Chamber memberships. Meeting
monthly, the Ambassadors also assist the Chamber Staff with
contacting members throughout the year. The Ambassadors have
many opportunities for recognition in the newsletter and by
other members as they reach their goals. The Ambassador roster
is limited to 30 members. To become an Ambassador, please
contact the Chamber office at 853-1949.
Board Membership
Chamber board membership is available for primary decision
makers within Chamber member companies. The terms of the board
members are staggered in order to allow the opportunity for
additional members to be added each year. The nominated
positions are filled by vote. If you are interested in serving,
please contact the President of the Chamber at 853-1949.
Government Relations Committee
Governed by a board of volunteer business leaders, the Chamber
takes a pro-business stand on legislative issues under the
directive of our members. Chamber staff and the Government
Relations Committee monitor relative issues, and offer feedback
to our local, state and federal legislators. Our staff and a
group of business leaders meet and provide our
business/industrial agenda to these elected representatives. If
you would like to offer direct feedback to the Chamber on issues
relevant to your business, please contact the Chamber at
853-1949.
Business Expo
The Business Expo committee is responsible for
planning and implementing the event with the assistance of
Chamber staff members. Planning and implementation by the
committee generally requires six months prior to the event.
Opportunities include marketing, sponsorships, exhibitor
services, decorations, layout, set up, etc. If you are
interested in assisting with the Business Expo,
please contact the Chamber at 853-1949.
Golf Tournament
The Golf Tournament committee is responsible for planning and
implementing the event with the assistance of Chamber staff
members. Planning and implementation by the committee generally
requires four months prior to the event. Opportunities include
marketing, sponsorships, set up, etc. If you are interested in
assisting with this event, please contact the Chamber at
853-1949.
Committee Membership (Volunteerism)
There are many opportunities for involvement. The Chamber offers
a wide variety of programs and relies on volunteers to help
accomplish program goals. Volunteers implement each event
offered by the Chamber with available assistance from Chamber
staff. Some of the committees available include Community
Development, Economic Development, Government Relations, Member
Development, Golf Tournament, Business Expo,
and Ambassadors Club. Volunteers play an important role in the
design and implementation of the programs of the Chamber.
Committee involvement also provides a vital link for members to
work and develop business relationships with other members. |
