We know for our business to grow and be successful that we need a more educated workforce, and TN Promise ensures a consistent pipeline of talent for years to come. Many of these students will be the first person in their family to go to college and need a little extra assistance. Since the launch of TN Promise, more than 5,000 additional low-income students than were previously projected have entered college, and Tennessee’s economically disadvantaged students are 17 percent more likely to go to college. TN Promise students are also retaining, graduating and transferring at rates higher than their peers attending college without TN Promise.
