On Saturday, September 15th, West Cancer Center hosted their signature fundraising event, West FIGHT ON at Shelby Farms Park.
What began as a small bike ride around one of the West Clinic locations has grown into a multi-sport celebration of the cancer-fighting spirit of our local community. Over 3,000 people attended the event, with more than 2,000 participants either cycling, running the 5K or walking in the 1-mile tribute walk.
As the signature fundraising event for the West Institute, West FIGHT ON has raised over $2.5 million dollars for cancer research and patient services in the past six years and nearly $700,000 this year alone.
Mike Sadler, with Flat Hat, and member of the chamber was a sponsor of the event and provided beer for the participants.
