Tell us about your customers! Why do they come to you?
My clients are a fantastic mix of families of all sizes, busy professionals relocating to the area, retirees looking to downsize, and the joy of helping first time home buyers just starting out! I have several customers who have bought AND sold homes with me (multiple times!) My customers become my friends and I enjoy keeping in touch with them over the years. I like to have fun while getting my work done and my clients keep me working hard and laughing over some of the crazy situations that come up in real estate!
My parents taught me the value of a strong work ethic, and I apply that in every part of my life. The most knowledgeable people I know are involved in multiple community outreach programs, and I’m drawn to be active in our Town and learn more every day. My clients benefit from my deep understanding of this area and I do my "homework" and make sure I get all their questions answered.
Tell us about where you connect with others in the Collierville community.
You can find me at the Collierville Chamber of Commerce events, Main Street, Town Hall, Collierville Parks, and Leadership Collierville Alumni events (just to name a few places!) I’m out and about in the community as much as possible and my office is usually my car. The life of a real estate agent is on the go, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Tell us about a "day in the life" of you in your business.
I am usually up and out by 8 am, ready to start my day. Since every day varies, I try to get all my work done the night before, just so I am free and available if someone wants to meet with me or needs help with anything on short notice. I work when clients need me, so I truly do not have a "quitting time" each day. Real estate is definitely a people business, so I work when I’m needed, including weekends and holidays. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day are two days I can count on not working!
What makes our town special to you and why is it a great place for your business?
The residents of Collierville truly make this Town so special and unique. My philosophy has always been that if you give back you will get so much more in return. There are a lot folks in the Town that give back and help make Collierville an amazing place to live. Our schools are top notch, our Town has dedicated, exceptional employees in all departments, the Parks and greenbelts are beautiful, we are a safe community, and our Mayor and Town Administration work hard for all 50,000 residents. Our family moved here in 1995 and we feel so fortunate to be a part of this outstanding community!
Tell us about the nonprofit organizations you support in the Collierville area.
When my children were young, I started volunteering as an Upward Basketball Coach, PTA Volunteer/Board Member and a Girl Scout Leader (I still buy A LOT of cookies).
I’m a loyal supporter of our outstanding Collierville Schools and their numerous fundraisers. I try to sponsor when asked and volunteer when my help is needed. To support our hard working teachers, the Collierville Education Foundation is very important to me. The CEF receives a donation from each of my real estate closings, which is matched by John Green and Company.
Main Street Collierville helps to enhance and protect the historic area of Collierville and it’s important to preserve this part of our Town. The Collierville Arts Council is also very special to me as well as Incarnation Church. I recently listed a challenge to my friends and contacts for giving back, and listed all the wonderful organizations that I’ve gotten to know closely over the years: CLICK to read more.
Tell us about your story! Family, interests and hobbies.
I truly do not have a lot of time for hobbies (unless you count my Town of Collierville interests and board meetings to be “hobbies”). When you love what you, it’s always incentive to work harder and help more people. It’s rewarding and exciting to help clients with their real estate needs, which could be one of largest financial decisions they make. My family, the Town of Collierville, and my clients keep me busy!
My family and I like to travel to visit my parents, John and Helen Connors. They moved to Hilton Head, SC from Fort Wayne Indiana upon retirement in 1994. David and I have three children: Brittany (25), a second year med student at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Andrew (21), a Senior at Purdue University and Abby (20), a Junior at University of South Carolina. I also have 25 nieces and nephews and 4 greats! CLICK to read a little fact people may not know about me.
